When her mother is arrested for prostitution, a girl (Perdita Weeks) of about eight years of age finds shelter with an elderly woman, then there a permanent home once an evil pimp drives her mom into suicide. Trouble really starts when the pimp makes it known he wants the lass to come work for him, so she is quickly carted off to a boarding school run by strict nuns. Ten or so years later, our heroine is still coveted by the antagonist..., but also by an aristocrat and a hunchback. Who will end up with this beauty by the time the ending credits role? Originally made for British television and shown in three parts.
