From acclaimed director Louis Malle comes this tale of a twelve year old girl (Brooke Shields) residing in a brothel. Shortly after the lass finds her virginity sold to the highest bidder, her mother, who is also a prostitute, races off with a gambler in search of a better life. Can our young heroine now make it on her own..., or might life be more comfortable accepting the invitation to marry a photographer?
