A boy (Frederic Malgras) of about fifteen years and a criminal disposition creates plenty of trouble in his small seaside town, enough to eventually land himself in a detention center. In the meantime, a fourteen year old girl (Vahina Giocante) he has had his eye on flirts with one too many United States soldiers and, in turn, comes to find herself ostracized from friends and lovers, the word "whore" now attached. But when our hero escapes his captors, these two hook up and steal a boat, drive it to a small island nearby where they explore love and passion..., that is until the lad's criminal instincts again surface and provoke tragedy. This is a film you will probably either find yourself impressed by or hate. It has a dream-like quality and never attempts to explain its characters' actions, which might be a very clever way to depict young adolescents. Recommended!
