A compulsive gambler who was just fired from a position at a prestigious boarding school takes a job "mothering" a group of orphaned and troubled boys, roughly eight to sixteen years old, to pay off his debts. When the kids find out their older friend is in financial trouble, they steal money from the orphanage and place a bet on a soccer game they are to soon play. Will they prove victorious before the goons arrive to collect or the money is noticed to be missing? A cute, entertaining film directed by Sean Cummingham, who is best known for his Friday the 13th.
