NOTE: THIS FILM IS IN FRENCH WITH NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES OR DUBBING. This rather talkative movie will be a little hard to follow if you don't know French, but here's what I was able to figure out. Like many girls in the midst of puberty, Charlotte (Charlotte Gainsbourg) has troubles with her parents, doesn't feel understood. Life is even more difficult since our heroine is envious of a female peer (Clothilde Baudon) who has reached fame via her exceptional ability to play the piano. Just wanting someone to view her as special, the lass hooks up with a young man; complications arise once it is evident he holds more than a Platonic interest. A significant subplot involves Charlotte's relationship, the nature of which I could not really determine, with a younger girl named Lulu (Julie Glenn), roughly eight. An award winning film directed by Claude Miller.
