Despite its hard-to-swallow ending, here is a rather good film about gay youth. An abused lad (Scott Neal) of about sixteen finds shelter at his neighbor's and ends up sharing a bed with her son (Glen Berry), approximately sixteen too. The latter boy is rather aware of his homosexuality but doesn't so easily enlighten the former to his. Significant subplots focuses on a teenage girl (Tameka Empson) involved with drugs yet more so addicted to Mama Cass and a romance between the aforementioned mother and a young hippie. A definite crowd pleaser; recommended!
Warning (rated NR): sexual themes; profanity; adult themes; violence; brief nudity.
