Michael (Bryan Madorsky), roughly eight years of age, realizes something ain't quite right with mom and dad but can't exactly pinpoint what it is. Yet, as his unconscious hints around at the source by tormenting him with nightmares, his school's psychologist tries to unravel the mystery herself. Will they find the answer together, or will Michael's parents manage to keep their secret, continue their facade of being a typical American family who just has a thing for barbecue? Full of great dream sequences; the 1950's sets are fun too; includes an effective score by Angelo Badalamenti. A darkly comical horror flick that will make you give your next steak dinner a second thought!

Warning (rated R): violence; adult themes; sexual themes.

1989; 81 minutes; Bryan Madorsky, Juno Mills-Cockell, Randy Quaid, Mary Beth Hurt, Sandy Dennis, Uriel Byfield, Mariah Balaban.
