Classic film from Andrei Tarkovksy depicts twelve year old Ivan (Nikolai Burlyayev) as a Russian spy working on the front lines during World War II. His commander wants to send him off to military school, feels the battlefield is no place for children, but Ivan states he will just run away, fight elsewhere, is a determined lad set on avenging the death of his mother and sister. Although a little confusing here and there, this is a wonderful film about the horror of war and the greatness of human bonds, is certainly one you will not want to miss.
