Mario (Xavier Norman Petermann), roughly ten, is considered disturbed, hardly speaks, doesn't view the world as others do. But his older brother Simon (Frances Reddy), approximately eighteen, loves him a lot, spends hour after hour creating fantasies to entertain the lad. Yet, when a girl visits their small town, Simon's head is quick to turn the other way, which leaves Mario feeling hurt and jealous. Then, an accident gets the boy labeled a "problem child," institutionalized in a hospital for the mentally ill. Will Simon come to the rescue, find a solution to their problems? Beautifully photographed; a unique and worthy pursuit. Xavier has a striking resemblance to Aliosha Cherstvov of The Orphans; the film can, in a way, be compared to Lamb. Recommended!
Warning (rated PG): adult themes; violence; mild profanity.
