NOTE: THIS FILM IS IN FRENCH AND GERMAN WITH NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES OR DUBBING. Although a bit difficult to follow if one doesn't understand French, my idea of what is here going on is that during World War II a lad in his late teens (Pierre Blaise) is rejected by the French underground and retaliates by becoming a member of the German police. This gives him free reign in his community for a short while, but what is our hero to do when the Nazis want his girl? A rare film from Louis Malle which should certainly interest any fan of the great director. Looks quite good; too bad there is no English translation. Blaise died roughly a year after this movie was completed.
Warning (rated NR): violence; adult themes; sexual themes; brief nudity.
