Eight year old Barney (Alexis Banas) starts having peculiar visions once his great uncle dies. Soon, it is learned that another great uncle, who was erroneously believed to be dead, is responsible, that the man desires the boy's companionship since he reminds the master magician of his now deceased little brother. Can Barney's older sisters (Meredith Braum and Eleanor Gibson) save their younger sibling's soul before it is snatched up and taken to reside in an abyss? Generally meant for the kids, but a nicely done piece with a unique premise and some fun (yet not fantastic) special effects. Based on Margaret Mahy's novel The Haunting. Part of the WonderWorks series
Warning (rated NR): no objectionable content, but some elements might frighten younger children.
