A priest plagued by a plethora of sexual imagery goes to extremes to rid himself of it. But this gets a bit complicated when a woman he has often fantasized over confesses that she loves and desires him. Will he keep his vows and remain celibate for the sake of God, or will temptation lead him away from the Church? Granted, children are not the focus of this film, but there are a number of significant flashbacks to the priest's adolescence that place him at about thirteen or fourteen years of age and which point to the aetiology of his path and struggle. This relentless yet excellent film was banned by the Catholic Church and suppressed for a number of years. Directed by Eloy de la Iglesia. Highly recommended!
