No one but Martin (Sylvain Copans), roughly ten, and his classmates know that his mother has recently died, and the plan is to keep it that way so that Martin will not be sent off to an orphanage. So, the group of preteens perform their own funeral, struggle to keep their friend nourished, educated and the bills paid. Might they pull it off, or will the nosy neighbors and teachers figure it out? Has been compared to Stand By Me and the works of Truffaut. A pleasant look at the depth of friendship during this age.
