Here's another winner from Eloy de la Iglesia! In this one, three teens from impoverished homes try to raise $400 for an abortion once one of them (Rosario Flores) becomes impregnated by another. Quickly, it is learned that a "job" is not the best route, that a significant amount of cash is more easily obtained via illegal methods. So, the two males of the threesome (Antonio Gonzalez Flores and Jose Luis Manzano) get involved in some drug smuggling, then find themselves surrounded by dangerous characters who would rather sell the baby-on-the-way to the black-market than have it aborted. Perhaps not Iglesia at his best but still a good examination of the passions and romances of youth..., as well as much more. Rosario and Antonio star as brother and sister and are indeed brother and sister in real life. Recommended!
