Here's a cute and charming look at first love from a girl's perspective. Sent to live on a kibbutz while her parents go to help needy children in the Orient, fourth-grader Aya (Einat Helfman) quickly finds herself engrossed in the preteen gossip of her peers..., snickerings about which boys they like and which of them might feel similar things. At first, the older Giora (Assaf Zur) appears to be the perfect match, but when a jealous girl (Osnat Farago) sets out the destroy the relationship, Aya finds herself in a world of hurt, the boy quickly turning his interests elsewhere. Might there be salvation in a romance with another lad, Dodo (Eyal Fox), or perhaps Aya's "crush" on an older teacher will amount to something. A sweet based-on-fact movie which actually casted kibbutz kids; "Boy takes girl" refers to a dance the children engage in.
